Shipping containers are a well-built, watertight, mobile building solution for many small businesses and individuals. By investing in your own shipping container, you’ll be able to use or modify it to suit your needs and gain a valuable, cost-effective asset in the process.
Renting vs. Purchasing Shipping Containers
Depending on your cash flow, the size of the container you need, and the timetable you need your container for, renting might be the best option for you. Renting a container allows you to assess your needs and then make an adjustment when the time comes to rent again.
If you’re new to using containers, renting gives you a trial period to see if it works for you. If you’re not sure about the dimensions of the container or what your space is like, you could rent a container before making a purchase.
Purchasing a container allows you to cut down on your long-term costs, giving you full control of your property. Purchasing also allows you to modify your container in any way you wish. At Conterm, we’ve transformed containers into a variety of building solutions, including:
- Heated storage
- Outside stages and kiosks
- Pop-up restaurants and shops
- Multimedia booths
- Much more!
Purchasing your container gives you more flexibility when moving it around. If you need to move your storage unit, office, or building, our team at Conterm is able to pick it up for you and transport it to wherever it needs to go.
Buying Used Shipping Containers
Used or refurbished shipping containers tend to be less expensive than new units and are more cost-effective for smaller budgets. All of our used containers are inspected to be wind and watertight, keeping your belongings safe from the elements.
Used containers are built-to-last, with features such as:
- Durable and fire-resistant construction made from anti-corrosive steel
- Undercoated hardwood flooring
- Floor-to-ceiling lockable doors at one end
- Sealed and welded construction
- Rodent proof
- Rust-resistant paint coatings and door hardware
- Forklift pockets for ease of handling
We sell standard size used shipping containers, including 10′, 20′, and 40′ lengths. The prices are determined by the age, type, condition, and market value of the container. We always do our best to offer the lowest prices possible.
Intermodal containers are available in a number of sizes, ranging in length from 10’, 20’, or 40’ standard. For these containers, the interior width and height are the same at 8’ and 8.5’, respectively.
As an alternative, we also offer a 40′ high cube container. Compared to the 40’ standard container, the high cube gives an extra foot of height to the container.
