Conterm Provides Modified Custom Containers for Montreal’s Biggest Summer Events

Conterm creates custom containers for various shows, festivals, semi-permanent installations and exhibits in and around Montreal. Originally founded in 1972, Conterm has been serving a wide range of both local and international clientele, providing a full services including shipping container sales and rental of shipping containers and modified containers, mobile office trailers, event containers and much more.
This summer, during the month of June, we had the privilege of providing custom containers for a wide range of uses for four of the biggest and most popular events in the city, including Les FrancoFolies de Montréal, the Montreal F1 Grand Prix, the Montreal International Jazz Festival and the MURAL International Festival of Public Art.
Our custom containers were used in a variety of ways for these four events including secured equipment storage, walls and entrances, outdoor storage, kiosks, and electrical control rooms. Read below to learn more about these four signature events taking place in Montreal.
Les FrancoFolies de Montréal
Happening June 9th to June 18th 2016 in downtown Montreal
The FrancoFolies festival in Montreal has been reflecting the best of French-speaking music throughout the world. This year, the festival celebrates its 28th edition. Held in the Quartier des spectacles, the downtown core of Montreal, FrancoFolies goers will find more than 250 concerts, 7 outdoor stages and 1000 artists including songwriters, composers and vocalists from 13 different countries across the globe. With nearly 70 indoor shows and 180 outdoor concerts,
FrancoFolies is the place to be to both let loose and to embrace the musical culture of Montreal; the largest French-speaking city in North America.

Montreal F1 Grand Prix
Happening June 10th to 12th, 2016, in Montreal Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
The Montreal F1 Grand Prix is the only place to experience F1 in Canada. One of the summer most extravagant and international event. The race takes place on historic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The first F1 race on the current track was held in 1978. Drivers cover a total distance of 305 km in 70 laps. According to Formula 1 , driver Rubens Barrichello holds the fastest Lap Record at 1m 13 seconds attained in 2004. However, Michael Schumacher holds the winning record having won the race 7 times.

Montreal International Jazz Festival
Happening June 29th to July 9th, 2016 (37th edition), in downtown Montreal
The desire for a Jazz festival began to truly make way in the 70’s which eventually resulted In the founding of the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal on July 2nd, 1980. The first edition of the festival was inaugurated by the legendary Ray Charles.
This year the Montreal International Jazz Festival celebrates its 37th edition in the heart of Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles, welcoming performing artists like Cat Power, Lisa Simone to Orkestra Severni and musical genres ranging from classic jazz to rhythm and blues (R&B). The Festival consists of 3 weeks of pure class.

The MURAL International Festival of Public Art
Happening June 9th to June 19th 2016, in downtown Montreal
Birthed in 2013, the MURAL festival is the heart of North-American urban art and takes place in the heart of Saint-Laurent Boulevard. It is an event filled with creative souls, eye-catching art made in real time and acts as a true celebration of the bursting modern creativity in this city we call home.
During the 11 days in which MURAL is launched, you can expect to be witness to exclusive musical events, exhibitions and mouth-watering gastronomy. MURAL is the place to be for the creative, daring free spirit.
